Le Prince de Da-Nang Man's Shirt
medium size denim shirt met its new destiny, somewhere along one of my
mental trips to Vietnam. The front pockets have been appliquéd with
pieces of red Bingata, the fabric typical of the Southern Japanese
Islands. I bought the Bingata in Okinoerabu, a small fishing village in
the string of islands leading to Okinawa, off the Southernmost coast of
Japan. The color has been adorned with a delicate fabric representing
the rolls of the waves and the ebb and flow of the ocean, all in a
beautiful shade of blue.
Finally, the yoke of the shirt has been transformed into a pond where
Koi carps of vibrant shades of orange and white swim peacefully.
A secret bonus bead.
